Abstract:
The calculation of two and three dimensional unsteady viscous
flows in thin layers, with surface tension effect, is discussed.
Surfactants, substrate energetics, moving contact lines, substrate
curvature and shear-thinning rheology are additional effects that
are considered. In each case the problem is simplified by use of
the lubrication approximation. A variety of real-world applications
are mentioned.
